Real name: Rich Anzalone

Rich Anzalone was an outspoken, Alternative Music Radio DJ who often played long uninterrupted thematic music sets and thrived on requests from the listening audience, not what station management or record companies wanted him to play. He was named DJ of the year 1981 by Boston Rock Magazine for bringing Alternative Music along with music by signed and unsigned local bands to commercial radio. The station WLYN-FM was eventually sold to the Boston Phoenix as WFNX, but Rich was never rewarded for the road he paved for what was then called New Wave and Punk music to become part of the mainstream radio playlists in the Greater Boston area back in the 1980's and 1990's.
