Henry W. Petrie
Real name: Henry William Petri
American composer and performer of popular music.Born March 4, 1857 in Bloomington, Illinois.
Died May 25, 1925 in Paw Paw, Michigan.
Petrie started out as a minstrel, but later turned to songwriting.
A number of his more popular works were sea- or ship-related, including his most famous work, "Asleep in the Deep" (1898, written with Arthur Lamb).
