Real name: Joe E. Burnett

American jazz trumpeter. Played with Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, and Maynard Ferguson, where he met his wife, noted Jazz Singer Irene Kral. (They were married in 1958 and divorced in 1975.) He worked in Hollywood, was the musical director for Julie London, and his credits include "The Glen Campbell Show", "The Smothers Brothers", "Jaws", "Close Encounters", and "The Towering Inferno".
