Tom Pickering
Real name: Thomas Mansergh Pickering
Australian clarinetist, tenor saxophonist, band leader and composer (b. August 8, 1921 in Burra, South Australia - 26 Oct., 2001 in Hobart, Tasmania)Moved to Hobart in early 1930s and active in Hobart jazz scene 1940s onwards. Worked for ABC in 1941. President of Hobart Jazz Club 1961. First recorded on the Australian Memphis label in 1947, and later for Ampersand & Swaggie.
