Colombian musician, singer, songwriter, composer, and journalist born on May 24th, 1932 in Tame, Arauca and died on November 9th, 1994 in Santafé de Bogotá (now simply called Bogotá). His song "Carmentea"—one of the most important songs in the history of Colombian music—was inspired by a woman named Carmen Teresa Aguirre, with whom he had a daughter named Arauca.
