Marco Machera
Real name: Marco Machera
Marco Machera is an Italian musician/songwriter.Mainly known as an accomplished bass player, he is also a multi-instrumentalist. His session work includes recordings and live shows with Teho Teardo, Paul Gilbert, Troot and Chrysta Bell.
His debut album "One Time, Somewhere" features the talents of Francesco Zampi, Pat Mastelotto, Rob Fetters and Mark Kostabi.
The second solo album, "Dime Novels", came out at the beginning of 2014. The album was produced by Machera and long-time collaborator, Francesco Zampi and features Pat Mastelotto, Tony Levin, Markus Reuter, Cabeki, Jennifer Maidman, among others.
His third solo effort, "Small Music From Broken Windows", was released in the fall of 2017. An intimate, personal and reflective album, based on “The Outsider”, a short story by H.P. Lovecraft. It was voted one of the ten best releases of 2017 by Classic Rock magazine in Italy.
"Dormiveglia", the long-awaited fourth album, is released in November 2023 on Baracca & Burattini. The album features long-time collaborators Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto, as well as contributions from Steve Jansen (best-known for his tenure in the band Japan, currently involved in Exit North) and other incredible musicians from around the world.
In 2014, Marco co-founded the band EchoTest with American bassist Julie Slick (Adrian Belew Power Trio, The Crimson ProjeKCt, Springs).
