Jim Diamond And The Lancers

The Lancers formed in Brisbane, Australia in 1961. As a four-piece group they played playing around Brisbane in clubs, pubs, church dances and private functions. An extremely versatile band, they could play a variety of styles, from the latest rock and pop songs to old time dance music.

By 1965 they had added an extra member in saxophone and harmonica at a time when they were engaged by Ivan Dayman to play on a regular basis at the Cloudland Ball-room (Every Tuesday and Thursday night playing 50s/60s rock music to be precise) and at the bowl in South Brisbane (every Friday and Saturday night playing all the latest rock and pop music, and backing various other touring artist such as Normie Rowe and Tony Worsley)

They continued playing through until 1988 with various personnel changes during that time - all while retaining the original members Jim Diamond (vocals , guitar) and David Cheales (bass, vocals).
