Ulan

ULAN is an alternative rock band with its origins in Kadikoy neighborhood of Istanbul (Turkey) formed by two high school friends Volkan Diyaroglu and Ziya Levent Aybay and based now between Valencia (Spain) and Istanbul. Their sound can be described as post rock, progressive / psychedelic rock. Their first album “Dua Tarlası” was launched by Sony Music Turkey in April 2015 which stayed in Top 10 charts of CD sales for over two months. The critics considered the band one of the biggest revelations of the country’s rock scene.
In 2016, ULAN released “Life in Vain” EP featuring 4 songs in English. The EP was recorded between Valencia and Istanbul with vocals, guitars, piano, pads and synths by Volkan Diyaroglu, bass by Ziya Levent Aybay, guitars by Özgür Öner and drums by Alex Manzano. Same year the band released an unplugged live sessions EP called “Elefante Unplugged Sessions”. With the frontman Volkan Diyaroglu living in Valencia and after inclusion of Spanish musicians Victor Traves (drums) and Sergio Renovell (trumpets) the band moved its main activity to Spain. In September 2017 the band released their second LP in English “Under Radar” in Spain and Turkey, in digital and vinyl format.
