Real name: Jesse Dunning McClowell Presley

Paternal grandfather of Elvis Presley.

Born on April 9, 1896 in Fulton, Mississippi. He married Minnie Mar Hood in 1913 and they had 5 children including Elvis’ father, Vernon Presley. He and Minnie later divorced and he married Vera Kinnaird in 1948.

Presley released a record of his own in 1958 following his grandson’s fame but only made limited copies. Presley would sing from his rocking chair with his small band playing behind him.

Presley died on March 19, 1973 in Louisville, Kentucky at the age of 76, just 4 short years before his grandson.
