American Mogul, Actress, Edutainer, Choreographer, Designer, and Whistle Vocalist born on January 16, 1979 in Brooklyn, New York. Killed at the age of 22 on August 25, 2001 along with eight others in a plane crash in The Bahamas after filming the music video for her single "Rock The Boat".

Upon releasing her debut album "Age Ain't Nothing But A Number" in 1994, Aaliyah gained a steadily growing reputation for helping to redefine contemporary R&B, pop and hip hop, earning her the nicknames the "Empress of R&B" and "Edutainer of Pop". A sophomore album "One In A Million" was released in 1996, and her final album, "Aaliyah", appeared earlier in the year of her tragic death. To Date, Aaliyah's music has continued to achieve commercial success, as she has sold an estimated 24 to 32 million copies of her discography worldwide.
