Southern soul - disco singer
She was born in Jackson, Mississippi on July 11, 1949. She started in the mid-60's singing with The Poppies (3) along with Dorothy Moore. She released one solo single in 1968, the Huey P. Meaux produced "Your Love Is Not Reliable" and in the 70's she did back up singing for other artists' releases (King Floyd, Dorothy Moore, Z.Z. Hill etc.) before she started recording as solo artist in the late 70's, with the duet with Frederick Knight, "Sweet Life in 1978. She released three albums, before returning to back up singing in the 80's. Her albums were produced by the holy trinity of southern soul scene (Carson Whitsett, Tommy Couch, Wolf Stephenson). Her biggest hits were "Groove Me" and "Together We Are Beautiful", she has also covered successfully Shirley And Lee's "Let The Good Times Roll" and Frederick Knight's "I've Been Lonely For So Long"
