Fumio was the original pioneer of electronic space music in Japan. He formed "Far Out" with Kei Ishikawa in 1970, which later morphed into the "Far East Family Band" with Kitaro and Akira Ito. After that band had broken up, Fumio started his own label BIWA, and issued some 50+ cassettes distributed almost exclusively by that label on the market in Japan.

The music combines his familiar celestial electronics w/guitar and sampled electro-acoustic and natural sounds. At times alternately ambient, free flowing and experimental filled with Asian exotica, sampled sounds and spacy guitar/ synthetics.
