The runout on Side A contains an intricate etching. The meaning and/or context is unknown.

The first ICU single, written about German Terrorist "Astrid Proll" was to have been titled "Solitary Astrid". However, to avoid controversy, this song was given the title "Solitary Ashtray". Comes in a plain white sleeve - some copies with hand-drawn band logo on one side and the band name and Nik Turner's signature on the other.
A few copies also came with a 2-sided colour photocopied folded lyric insert and a set of nine stickers of which one was plain white!

The dub on the "b" side was the favorite dub of renowned Reggae producer Dennis Bovell.
