"A safe place to me can be an actual physical place as much as a place that you have built up in your inner mind, consisting of fragments of memories or daydreams. The safe place has a purpose of being a sanctuary where you can feel completely relaxed, safe and free. Spending my childhood in the countryside of a small island the sea, forests and meadows all became a part of my safe place.

’Safe Places’ consists of two major elements; field recordings and the sounds of the Korg MS-20 synthesizer.The field recordings capture sounds of the elements or specific places and is the backbone of the tracks.On two of the tracks friends of mine have captured sounds from places that are ’safe’ to them. The music made with the synthesizer is inspired by the nature of the field recordings which, in turn, is inspired by the ’safe place’-theme."- Oskar Karlström
