Original Varèse Sarabande 2015 CD issue of a concept album, composed "in a cinematic-orchestral-electronica style" by Penka Kouneva, and financed in part through a kickstarter campaign which attracted 327 participants. The album was recorded in multiple venues and features The Hollywood Studio Symphony, as well as numerous soloists and the Gaudeamus Choir on various tracks, all under the supervision of the composer. The packaging features a sixteen-page booklet with detailed liner notes by the composer, track and technical information, a brief uncredited biographical note about the composer, a list of "endorsements" concerning the composition, both an English translation of "Solar Flare" and a brief note from music director Victor Rodriguez (10), a list of the 327 kickstarter contributors, and numerous photos of both the musical participants and sessions by David Rodwin on the interior pages; and color front and back covers, the former featuring a reproduction of a painting by Virgil Avery depicting the title character, and the latter featuring more photos of the major musical contributors by Rodwin. (There are additional nonstandard credit roles listed in the booklet, as well as a long list of "Special Thanks," all of which, due to space limitations, will not be included here!)
