Berlin-based multilingual, French-German duo formed 1993, comprising Françoise Cactus (born Françoise Van Hove in 1964 and formerly co-leader of the West Berlin band Lolitas; she died in 2021) and Brezel ('pretzel') Göring (aka Friedrich von Finsterwalde, born Friedrich Ziegler in 1967). Both Cactus and Göring sing and play multiple instruments. When they appeared on stage as a duo, Cactus frequently played drums while Göring played guitar and synth.
