The first eight tracks correspond to Akiyoshi's first album "Toshiko's Piano" from 1954, which is also the title on the disc face, booklet back and traycard back of this edition. The album was released as "Amazing Toshiko Akiyoshi" in Japan, which is the title on the traycard spines, booklet inner and obi of this edition.

Tracks 9 to 12 are bonus tracks first issued as LP Side A from "Toshiko and Leon Sash at Newport".
