Dischi Ricordi S.p.A.

Italian record company founded in October 1958 by Nanni Ricordi and Franco Crepax. This company operated the Ricordi label. Please make sure you enter the label where the release carries the Ricordi logo. The company also distributed releases for foreign labels, like Island (with some unique pink issues), Chrysalis, Mute and A&M Records. At the end of the June of 1983 Dischi Ricordi was the first Italian company to produce a CD of Gianna Nannini "Latin Lover".

In August 1994 Bertelsmann Music Group acquired a majority stake in Dischi Ricordi S.p.A. and beginning of 1995 got full control over the company. Later that year, the company was merged with BMG Ariola S.p.A. to form BMG Ricordi S.p.A.
