Slip 'n' Slide

Slip N Slide was created in London the early 90s as a platform for the very best of the new wave of US House music that was sweeping in from across the Atlantic at the time. It was soon amongst the trend setters in house music, on par with Strictly Rhythm, Henry Street and Nervous Records.

The label gained a reputation for taking chances on young hot producers with plenty of talent, and has released some of the best early tracks and remixes from now legendary producers and DJs over the years. X-Press 2, Deep Dish, Masters At Work, Kings Of Tomorrow, King Britt, Josh Wink, Peace Division, Joey Negro and of course the mighty Blaze, (who for many became synonymous with the label), have all helped to form the label’s sound.

Slip N Slide has never just served up one sound, choosing to seek out the tastiest new music available at any given time and never afraid of taking risks. The imprint continues to push new artists, producers and remixers, with Solid Groove (Switch), Robbie Rivera, Ian Carey, Antoine Clamaran, Djaimin, Amira and many others all appearing on the label during the rise of their careers.

The new generation of producers have happily accepted invitations to join the legends, and the result of such open-mindedness is an uber-rosta of amazing new music. Releases in the past few years have included the likes of Tiger Stripes, DJ Delicious, John Dahlback, DJ Yellow, Liquid People, Hipp-E, Mr.V, Milton Jackson, Shur-I-Kan, Demarkus Lewis, Kruse & Nurnberg, Lifelike, Seamus Haji, Q-Burns Abstract Message and Kid Massive.

With big changes to the music industry, the arrival of the legal downloads, along with a generation shift in clubbers and music fans in general, Slip N Slide chooses to not quietly sit down and hope people will remember its past glories, but instead has invited the cream of legendary producers to mix with the hottest new talent around. Kruse & Nurnberg, DJ Sneak, Harry “Choo Choo” Romero, Sabrina Johnston, Prok & Fitch, Bangana, Tristan Garner, Crystal Waters, Widebooys, Last Rhythm, Ashley Beedle, Demarkus Lewis, King Britt, Atjazz, DJ Yellow, Satoshi Tomiie, Dom Navarra, Izzy Stardust, Tom De Neef, Mobin Master, Cicada and Stonebridge are all a part of the new Slip N Slide and the label will readily take on any new challenges that the world of house music throws its way... let’s get ready to rumble!

Label employees included James Ingle.

Important note: not to be confused with US hip-hop label Slip-N-Slide Records.
