Soultown
Soultown Records was a small label launched by Rashid Vally in 1970 out of his father's grocery and record store in Kort Street, downtown Johannesburg.
Originally specialising in "langarm" (a kind of dance music popular with "coloured" audiences), some of its releases would later be re-issued by its successor, As-Shams (The Sun).
