Album Info

Release Date: 2005

Label: Anazitisi Records

Influenced by Pink Floyd, Camel, first era CARAVAN, Jethro Tull, etc... Καλειδοσκόπιο (Kaleidoscope) present a "kaleidoscope" of sounds.

Actually they were a side-project of great greek neo-psychedelic-progeressive Purple Overdose. A short-lived band that only made a handful of live appearences. Their leader-vocalist-guitarist-flutist-arranger, is Vassilis Kapanikis who was the leading figure behind the excellent 70's progressive band Nemesis.

0+∞ (Zero & Infinity) album, is a concept work, consisted of 11 parts. All the lyrics are by greek pessimist poet Kostas Karyiotakis while the music is original Kaleidoscope composition. Kapanikis had composed and arranged this work for a symphonic orchestra and a rock band. This vinyl represents the rock group's version. The listener can find spacey and heavy progressive soundscapes, lots of strange percussion, mellotron but also original string-quartet parts, flutes, leslie-organs, fuzzy guitars and jazzy tunes. Recordings made in a matter of 20 hours, back in 1998.

This is a very limited release made in 100, numbered, white-labeled, vinyl copies!!!! Hand-made covers, include a 20-page booklet, 2 posters and one flyer from the lone three KALEIDOSCOPE live-gigs, plus an insert with b/w photos and info about the band.
