Новый Мировой Порядок ( New World Order) - recorded in 1991 - should be considered more as a solo effort by Lev Portnoy as the the only contributor - besides of course Lev - was Sergej Plaksin on "percussion". At the time, Lev was heavily influenced by graphical, drawn sound and the works of such Soviet electronic music pioneers as Arseny Avraamov, Boris Yankovsky, Alexei Voinov, Yevgeny Sholpo and Lev Theremin. With more or less success he even recreated Theremin's Rhythmicon. Those familiar with СИГНАЛ consider Новый Мировой Порядок as the darkest and most abstract work of Lev. The album was recorded entirely with homemade synthesizers and electronic devices - a la Portnoy - at Sergej's "home studio".
