Adam Fischer is the General Music Director who founded The Austro-Hungarian Haydn Orchestra in 1987 to perform the works of Joseph Haydn in the place where he lived and worked. The orchestra consists of some of the finest musicians from Austria and Hungary. From the Esterházy Palace located in Eisenstadt, Austria, the Austro-Hungarian Haydn Orchestra, under the direction of Adam Fischer, successfully recorded all of Joseph Haydn's 104 symphonies on Nimbus Records. The project was completed in 2001.

Son of Fischer Sándor, older brother of Iván Fischer, and cousin of György Fischer.
