Real name: Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński

Born January 22, 1921 – died August 4, 1944. Polish poet and Home Army soldier, one of the most renowned authors of Generation of Columbuses - young generation of Polish poetry, many of whom perished in the Warsaw Uprising during World War II. He was killed in action by a German sniper in the Warsaw Old Town area.
