Real name: William B B Johnson

American singer, guitarist nick named Blues Boy Johnson, born October 16, 1932 in Augusta, Georgia. At age 16, he had his own band called "Bill Johnson and the 4 Steps of Rhythm Orchestra". Released his first recording in 1959, titled "Babaloo", and "You Better Dig It" in 1961. Relocated to New Jersey in 1962, where he appeared as a vocalist for The Soul Brothers, and met his collaborator Sam Gary (guitarist for The Soul Brothers), with whom he eventually formed Sam And Bill.
