American country music band, McBride & The Ride were founded in 1989.Initially composed of:
Terry McBride (lead vocals, bass guitar)
Ray Herndon (background vocals, guitar, Dobro)
Billy Thomas (background vocals, drums, percussion)
In 1994, Herndon and Thomas left the group, a six-piece lineup was created and re-named Terry McBride & The Ride.

Terry McBride & The Ride disbanded in 1995.
During the band's hiatus, McBride and Herndon wrote singles for other artists. McBride, Thomas and Herndon reunited as McBride & the Ride in 2000 before splitting up again in 2002.
