Blue Crystals
Bowling Green, Ohio 1963-68
The Blue Crystals started playing the Bowling Green area club circuit. They got a name around town after a manager had the inspiration to spray their hair with blue paint! In 1966 they added Baron Thomas, a gospel singer from Toledo, and performed under the name of Baron Thomas and the Blue Crystals. The band played constantly, 50/52 weekends a year, rotating engagements at BGSU campus bars and other clubs.
