Artammon

Real name: JEAN MICHEL AMMON

Jean-Michel Ammon, (Artammon) was born in Lausanne (Switzerland) on October 25, 1956.
Since he was little he has been interested in music and began to play the guitar at the age of 14.
In 1996 he went back to studying music at the age of 40, at the Ribeaupierre Institut in Lausanne. M. Lucien Metianu, a well-known composer, was his teacher. His teachings played a crucial role in Jean-Michel Ammon's advancement. They open doors to his perceptions and, ultimately, to his creativity. For his final exam, he presented a study called "Beethoven's Constat d'énergie du Quatuor à cordes opus 74" which obtained a grade of 10 out of 10, given by Henri Scolari, an expert at the Lausanne Conservatory.
He started composing music in 2008, and in 2014 he was selected to play his music at the «Digitales» festival that takes place outdoors in many Swiss city parks. Many of the sounds that can be heard in these compositions are recorded out of reality (real birds such as the common nightingale, the trush song; of frogs, sounds of cars, etc.) and express their concern about the degeneration of polluted nature and the bestiality that inhabits. But you can also feel a touch of humor, because his motto was: "Humor is the courtesy of despair."
He passed away in Lausanne on February 25, 2019. He left a legacy of 25 incredible pieces of music. Enjoy!
