Formed in 1990, Scary Éire, are Irelands pioneering hip hop outfit. Their music is a melting pot of styles, blending together hip hop, reggae, jazz, punk, ska, and traditional Irish. This unique sound sealed a major recording contract for them with Island records. The deal was short lived and Scary Éire’s recordings were shelved. The band went their separate ways and in 2007, a staggering 13 years later, their debut album “The Scary Era” finally got its release.
