Chorus And Orchestra Of The Philadelphia Lyric Opera

The Philadelphia Lyric Opera Company was an American opera company located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which was active between 1958 and 1974. In 1975 the company merged with the Philadelphia Grand Opera Company but retained its original name. Only very few recordings exist. The only credits here are one excerpt from Lakmé by Léo Delibes with Sutherland and Tourangeau (1968) on a opera CD compilation and one Side of an LP with excerpts of Verdis La Traviata sung by Caballé and Carreras (1973) in a box set, which is dedicated to Cileas Adriana Lecouvreur also by Caballé and Carreras but with an other orchestra one year earlier in Barcelona.
