Jazz and blues singer, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, October 15, 1922 or 1924, died same city, April 21, 1977.
Thomas began her singing career at the old Tick Tock Club in the mid-1930s and became popular in many Bourbon Street clubs. She sang with Louis Armstrong, Al Hirt, Pete Fountain and "Papa" French and performed at jazz festivals, at Carnegie Hall, at the Hollywood Bowl, and at the grand opening of the Kennedy Center in Washington, D. C. Toured military based in Vietnam in 1967 with Louis Cottrell.
