Within ten years Joachim Gebhardt began to sing in the boy choir Windsbacher Knabenchor in Windsbach, Germany as a solo sopranist. As a bass baritone matured, he studied concert singing with Eva Jürgens in Kassel. Since 1972 he is baritone in the radio choir 'NDR-Chor' in Hamburg.

In addition to this main profession, he sees his special artistic task in the interpretation of songs, oratorios and concertos. His concert engagements have taken him to numerous cities in Germany also abroad. He sang with great success almost all the major parts of the oratorio and concert literature and concerted under renowned conductors and orchestras known. In addition, Joachim Gebhardt is well known as a song interpreter.
