State Symphony Capella of Russia was established in 1991. Its founding followed a merge of the State Symphony Orchestra of the USSR Ministry of Culture (Государственный Симфонический Оркестр Министерства Культуры СССР) led by Gennady Rozhdestvensky and the USSR State Chamber Choir (The USSR Ministry Of Culture Chamber Choir) under Valery Polyansky.
