US musician, songwriter, producer, and sound engineer Curtis Kirk (1929-1985) was born in Grand Saline, Texas. The owner of publisher Tyler Publ. Co. and label Custom in Tyler, Texas, Kirk was active from about the 1950s to 1980s, producing a number of songs and albums for local Texas musicians. In addition, Kirk worked as a sound engineer at various bluegrass festivals in Texas and Oklahoma during the 1970s.
