René Hedemyr

Real name: René Hedemyr

Swedish (actually a Danish citizen but living in Sweden since birth) DJ, musician, engineer (educated but never worked as), producer and artwork creator from Stockholm born 1959.

Started his DJ career around 1971 at Tensta Ungdomsgård playing soul. Started his first club as 12 years old. Played as 15 years old at Jazzclub Fasching, Stockholm as a stand in for resident DJ Olle Bull when he had a break between 11 PM to 12 AM.

Established SweMix Records as one of 10 original DJs and one of the 5 active members.

Got his alias JM Fax from Sten Hallström during the SweMix era when Hedemyr begged for buying a fax machine so they could communicate faster and do business with the UK. At that time house music was taking of and all artists was name something with Jack Master so Hedemyr got the nick name Jack Master Fax.

When Hedemyr sold SweMix Records around 1994 he had a contract that prevented him from working with music. He then switched to artwork and video production. The first music video he produced was Herbie - Right Type Of Mood.

Started the franchising club concept, The Soul Train, in Stockholm 2010.

Hedemyr lost his whole record collection in a housebreaking in the end of the 1990ies. According to Hedemyr it must have taken days to carry out all his records.

He recently changed his name to René Disteli as Disteli is his fathers surname.
