American songwriter, stage director & producer. b. Glasgow, Scotland, 13 Aug. 1870. Came to U.S. as producer & director for Lillian Russell following her London appearance. Director of New York Hippodrome 1908-1923. d. Metuchen, N.J., 14 Sept. 1952
