Leif Wennerström

Swedish modern jazz drummer, born on December 24, 1937, died April 28, 2021.He was a member of the Bernt Rosengren Quartet from 1963, which toured Scandinavia and eastern Europe, and also performed at the Jazz Jamboree in Warzaw. Since 1967 it has also performed with Don Cherry and then with Mongezi Feza, and also recorded albums with them. Furthermore, Wennerström accompanied traveling American musicians such as Ben Webster in 1965 and Benny Bailey in 1976. In the 1980s he also worked with Bertil Lövgren and Krister Andersson and then joined the Per Henrik Wallin Trio. It was not until 1995 that he presented an album as a leader. Wennerström contributed to 81 jazz recordings between 1960 and 2001.
