Born: May 22, 1905 Hilo, Big Island, Hawaii Died: September 14, 1992 Seal Beach, Southern California.
He became a falsetto phenomenon in the 1930s when microphones improved the ability to hear the singer's voice. He was known as "Hawaii's Falsetto King".
2010: Posthumous winner of a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Lifetime Achievement Award under the auspices of the Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts.
