Japanese new wave / synth-pop duo formed by Masami Orimo and Mari Adachi in 1979. They were students of Susumu Hirasawa's at the Yamaha synthesizer school where Hirasawa taught at the time. Shampoo's first release was the "Tonight" 7" single on Climax Records in May 1982, then a track on the "Rebel Street" compilation LP in November 1982. Both the 7" and comp track were produced by Hirasawa from P-Model.

In 1983, Adachi moved the U.S.
Shampoo broke up in 1984 and got back together in 1999.

They were also managed by P-Model's label Model House (Model House).
