Fiddle player. Joined the Greenbriar Boys for their first album on the Vanguard label. He was with the band when they played with Joan Baez. A couple of years later, he was asked if he’d like to be one of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys. Buddy was with the band for less than a year. He came off the road with the Blue Grass Boys to deliver mail along the rural roads of Patrick County, Virginia. After Buddy became a mailman, he won the title of World Champion Fiddler at Union Grove contest five consecutive years. Buddy was a mailman for just over forty years.
