Felix Mottl

Real name: Felix Josef von Mottl

Effective period / Period of releases: 1978

Austrian conductor and composer (1856–1911).
He orchestrated (large orchestra) Richard Wagner's "Wesendonck-Lieder", and Emmanuel Chabrier's "Bourrée Fantasque" and "Trois Valses Romantiques".
As a conductor, some sources credit him as having started in Karlsruhe the practice (also followed by Gustav Mahler) of playing the overture "Leonore No. 3" before the final scene of the opera "Fidelio" (both works by Ludwig van Beethoven).
