According to Philip Clark's "Dave Brubeck - A Life in Time" this was "a new quartet with Gerry Mulligan—which, for contractual reasons and to avoid confusion with the classic group, was billed as 'the Dave Brubeck Trio featuring Gerry Mulligan'". ("The classic group" refers to the Dave Brubeck Quartet with Paul Desmond, which was dissolved in 1967.)
