Code III was the project of Berlin sound engineer Manfred Schunke, a pioneer of the "artificial head" recording system. Code II featured "two American hippies" living in Berlin: Ed and Mary Key, according to Klaus Schulze. They only existed as a band for this album and a track on a compilation, with Klaus Schulze joining-in on one session, as he was there working on his Blackdance album at the time.
