Absolute Value Of Noise Radio started in December 1987 as a radio program on CITR FM Radio in Vancouver, Canada. The name also functions as an alias for Peter Courtemanche's forays into field recording, musique concrète and noise. The original radio show had many frequent guests/co-producers including Brian Charles and GX Jupitter-Larsen. The radio show ended in 1992 and since then the artist has produced many sound installations, cassette and CD releases, and networked sound projects.
