Matts Arnberg

Swedish radio producer, musicologist and folk music researcher, born October 18, 1918 in Ovansjö parish, Gävleborg County, died September 3, 1995 in Sollentuna.

Arnberg studied musicology and folk life research at Uppsala University, where he became a bachelor of philosophy in 1949. He was employed in 1946 at Radiotjänst, where he became section manager in 1955. He mainly devoted himself to recordings of folk music tradition in Sweden and Swedish Finland. Hans created a unique and invaluable collection that was presented partly in a number of radio programs and partly on records. Most of the folk music recordings that Matts Arnberg made are today available via the Swedish Song Archive's website.
