Virginia Shoemaker began singing as a performer at age 6. In 1950, Using the professional name Ginny Gibson, she signed a contract with MGM Records in 1950. She was the first to record the song s "Mr. Sandman," "If I Give My Heart to You," and "Dansero." She also recorded under the alias "Ginny Blue". Her married name for a time was Virginia Nelson. Born: November 22, 1924 Rochester, NY, Died November 27, 1998 Nyack, NY.
