The band was originally founded by Broussard's grandfather Willis Marceaux in 1944 as Will Marceaux And The Louisiana Stars. Broussard took over the lead in the band in 1987 upon Marceaux's death. In addition to Broussard, the band line-up in 2021 consisted of Joey Dugan (bass and vocals), Stanley Benoit (steel guitar and vocals), Dwayne Lavergne (drums), and Clint Ward (fiddle).

Former members include: Syl Harrington (drums), Ray Guidry (fiddle), James Stroud (bass)
