Andrew Napoleon is a funk and RnB producer from the UK. A multi-instrumentalist and former touring session guitarist, he transitioned from live bands to music production around 2009. His early work was a hybrid of nu-disco and electro funk, influenced by the 80’s funk and soul that Andrew was raised on.

His work caught the eye of Kool & The Gang’s record label in 2011, who signed Andrew’s production duo for an album release. Andrew had the honour of being invited to remix a version of Kool & The Gang’s classic track ‘Misled’ for an upcoming re-release.

Over the next few years he dedicated himself to his craft, learning more about the art of music production. Studying directly with mentors such as legendary mixing engineer Max Heyes (Jamiroquai, Massive Attack, Primal Scream), he further developed his prowess as a producer, songwriter and mix engineer.

Andrew founded his own company Green Light Music in 2019, a boutique music production company working with independent artists all over the world. To date, Andrew has produced and written songs for more than 50 independent artists in over 20 countries.

In 2021, Andrew was signed by Washington D.C label Return Records as an in-house producer. Owned by The Orchard/Sony ATV, the label brought Andrew’s funk inspired productions to a wider audience. He teamed up with label artist Diquan Julius on several tracks, and their track ‘Let’s Dance’ won several awards including ’Best Funk Song’ at the 2022 Wammie Awards.

The label signing was significant, as he was the only producer employed who represented the modern funk/disco sound.

As of 2022, Andrew continues to work with upcoming artists across the funk and RnB genres. With projects scheduled for 2022 with some very notable artists, Andrew is excited to introduce his unique sound to a wider audience.
