Hal Horton
Real name: Howard "Hal" Horton
Disc jockey, show promoter, music publisher, songwriter and performer born in Montclair, New Jersey in 1893. In the 1930s he worked at Mexican border stations before relocating to the Dallas-Forth Woth area where he hosted country music radio programs for many years. He co-founded Metro Music publishing company, which published the earliest songs of Hank Thompson and Eddy Arnold. Died 28 November 1948 of a heart ailment.
