Franciszek Witkowski Free Music

Franciszek Witkowski

Polish composer, conductor and clarinetist. He graduated from the State Conservatory of Music in Poznań. He began his career in Warsaw as a clarinet player in the Gold and Petersburski orchestras. Around 1932, he was a saxophonist in the Henryk Wars orchestra, then he joined the Fred Melodyst orchestra, where he was a soloist and second conductor; he played in this orchestra until the turn of 1934/1935. At the beginning of 1935 he created his own jazz orchestra, which debuted in the Warsaw "Café Club" and quickly became the leader of Polish dance orchestras.
